Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Lucent AI (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Lucent AI is an AI-powered assistant platform that provides conversational AI, task management, workflow automation, and integrations with third-party services. The Service is available via web and mobile applications.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • One person or entity may not maintain more than one account.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
  • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly basis.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refunds are provided at our discretion. Contact support for refund requests.

5. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

You may provide your own API keys for AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google). When using BYOK, usage of those API keys is subject to the respective provider's terms. We are not responsible for charges incurred on your API key accounts.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or hateful
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Impersonate any person or entity

7. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses AI models to generate responses and perform tasks. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content before relying on it.
  • AI-generated content does not constitute professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).
  • We do not guarantee specific outcomes from using AI features.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create and input into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your content as necessary to operate the Service.

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Lucent AI. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.

9. Third-Party Integrations

The Service may integrate with third-party services (Google Workspace, Stripe, etc.). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms. We are not responsible for third-party service availability or data handling.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use policy.
  • Your use of the Service poses a security risk.
  • Required by law or regulatory action.

You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
